Market situation and customers
The situation in the agricultural sector is currently pleasingly stable. However, there are still strong differences from manufacturer to manufacturer.
The development of our new customers in the areas of agricultural machinery, commercial vehicles, railways, shipbuilding and industry is encouraging.

Certifications and Approvals
The successful auditing of DIN EN ISO 9001, 14001, 50001 and IATF 16949 in 2022 confirmed the process orientation of our company. This foundation also allows us to successfully pass customer audits from a wide variety of industries.
Equipment and Investment
Further investments in automation technology make us more attractive to our customers.
Thanks to the optimized production of GJS, we are able to offer ADI economically and have been supplying this material in series for years.
Employees, trade agreements and training
With the challenge of labor-intensive industries, such as the foundry industry, we are constantly challenged to drive improvement to offset or overcompensate for growing labor costs through appropriate productivity gains. So far, we have achieved this only to a limited extent, so that we are continuing to push ahead with automation with a corresponding job reduction. Unfortunately, this pays off more and more, as one can also assume that the collective bargaining agreement will experience further increases, which are always difficult to represent in our markets.
In 2023 we will continue our successful cooperation with our personnel service providers in terms of “training”. Accordingly, we have advertised the apprenticeships in the job market.
by the way
2022 was characterized by energy costs and the sometimes chaotic handling on the part of the authorities in Germany. By consistently following the respective development with the involvement of our customers, IHI has been able to compensate for the fluctuations well so far.
For 2023, the increase in material costs, the development of wage costs and the strategy of energy cost taxation in Germany will continue to pose additional challenges for the entire foundry industry. The IHI team will also master these in order to be there for our customers in the best possible way.
Glück auf!
